Stella Maris is about a man trying to rewrite himself. Adam Dannun is Palestinian, can pass as Jewish, moves between languages and identities, and tries to escape a past that keeps returning. Khoury turns this into a larger question about memory: what remains, what disappears and who gets to tell the story.
I started with a portrait and refused to let it stay whole. The face is cropped, repeated and shifted, then interrupted by blocks of colour and coarse halftone. The typography behaves in much the same way: the title is split and pushed to the edge, as if the cover itself cannot settle into a single version.
